Volunteer
Opportunities

Volunteers are an integral part of the Zapata County Museum of History! From daily tasks to special exhibition openings, volunteers serve on a weekly, monthly or as-needed basis.

Community
Service

The Museum will serve and enrich the community by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Zapata and its region through exhibitions, educational programs, lectures, publications and other community events.

ZAPATA HISTORY

Embark on yourself on a journey to explore Zapata’s history with our interactive exhibits, interspersed with exciting artifacts that tell the stories of Zapata’s disasters, diversity, recreational activities, local industry and much more.

THE OLD ZAPATA kIOSKO

More than 60 years ago, due to the creation of Falcon Dam, over 600 families were displaced and most of the buildings were blasted away. One that brings nostalgia to those who remember is the kiosko that stood across from the county courthouse.

REGION FAUNA

Visit us and discover the fascinating natural mysteries of our regional fauna exhibit and learn about the plants and animals that make Zapata one of the most biologically diverse County in the Texas State.
